Lens Technology

A different approach to optics

Most sunglasses are too dark, overly polarized, and primarily about fashion. They may make you squint less but don't help you see better.

We fixed that with our notch filtering technology.

We filter light with such precision that we can eliminate a specific wavelength (light color/energy) you don't need and enhance the wavelengths you do. It's noise-canceling for your eyes. You see better, are more relaxed, and can always keep your glasses on - in the car, in the cafe, and scrolling your phone.

FX RX Lens Technology plus minus

Our FX technology is custom-formulated with your prescription for working under full spectrum LED grow lights - amazing. The results are so good that you will want to wear them outside the grow room - which is fine as the FX tech works great under sunlight or with CMH lights. Our FX RX is our original formulation. It's safe and effective under all full-spectrum LED lights. It does NOT feature our resin repel coating - because that is done in Europe at our Zeiss Labs, and this lens is custom-made in the USA. But still - it will be the best RX experience you've ever had. Promise.

Frame Technology

Our Grow frames are designed in California and made in Italy with thermo-injected TR90 polymers. These materials can withstand the heat and professional rigors of the home basement grow or the biggest commercial facilities.

The Coup plus minus

The Coup frame is timeless with its glossy finish and classic Wayfarer style. It's a bit smaller than our famous Evolution Frame but packs just as much attitude. The Coup frame perfectly blends style and functionality, featuring concealed flex hinges. Designed on the coast of Southern California, crafted, painted, and polished in Italy, and tested on the streets of Las Vegas. We call it a Coup because it looks like trouble—not the insurrection type, more like the James Dean kind.

TR90 plus minus

TR90 is an advanced thermoplastic material engineered for lightweight strength, flexibility, and durability. Its resilient construction allows frames to flex under pressure while retaining their shape, providing a comfortable and secure fit. Resistant to corrosion and everyday wear, TR90 is particularly well suited for aviation, active environments, and extended use.

Method Seven Grow

We invented Grow Room glasses in 2009. Our founder, Jeff Goldberg, was a photographer for High Times Magazine and managed several successful grow rooms. He struggled to get good shots of his plants under High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) lights because everything appeared washed out in yellow. Inspired by neodymium glass-blowing goggles, he wondered if he could create a lens to balance HPS light.

After a few years of research and collaboration with a German optical chemist, we nailed it. It took rare earth elements to perfectly balance the HPS light. Along the way, we discovered we were also blocking infrared heat and all dangerous UV rays—bonus!

That's also how we got our name. Seven steps in the scientific method combined with rare earth elements to make a lens unlike any other in existence. And so, Method Seven was born. We've kept developing specific lenses for every type of grow light, including our latest master project, the FX2, for use with full spectrum LED lights. The lights keep evolving, and we continue to innovate to ensure our customers are safe and produce the best harvests possible. And yes, many of our crew still grow. Thanks, Jeff.
