Lens Technology

Method Seven’s lens technology delivers cutting-edge non-polarized glare reduction, allowing for clear, unrestricted vision without the drawbacks of polarized lenses. Using advanced notch filtering technology, Method Seven sets a new standard for optical performance and protection. Notch filtering allows for enhanced color accuracy, contrast, and clarity, providing a sharp and vibrant visual experience. Method Seven lenses provide complete UV protection and are designed to maintain clarity without distorting electronic displays or aircraft windows.

MACH Lens Technology plus minus

Lightweight and made from nearly indestructible polycarbonate, the MACH lens is the next generation of Method Seven aviation lens technology. With Method Seven’s signature notch filtering, the MACH lens delivers enhanced color, contrast, and clarity while eliminating glare without polarization. Complete UV protection, advanced AR coatings on both sides to minimize reflections, and no blue flash mirror coating make the MACH lens truly worthy of the stealth designation.

15% Visible Light Transmission plus minus

Darker than the FLT18 but lighter than the SKY9, 15% VLT strikes the perfect balance between the tints of Method Seven’s other pilot lenses. As the VLT most recommended by the FAA, it provides pilots with dependable visibility, superior adaptability, and high performance across diverse flying environments and aircraft.

Frame Technology

Designed for flexibility, durability, and longevity, Method Seven Pilot eyewear won't break your headset seal, ensuring you never miss a radio call. Timeless style meets endless comfort, without interruption. Developed and tested with real pilots across various professional and general aviation aircraft and cockpit configurations.

TR90 Frame Technology plus minus

Injected thermoplastic technology - the lightest, strongest way to make a sports or performance frame. If it's not titanium, it better be TR90.

The Interceptor plus minus

Inspired by elite fighter aircraft, the Interceptor is our most aerodynamic frame to date, designed to accommodate a variety of face shapes and sizes. The Interceptor is designed for an imperceptible fit with headsets and flight helmets, ensuring it won't break the headset seal or compromise your audio quality. The frame design eliminates pressure, pinching, and hotspots, ensuring comfort even on long hauls. Rubberized nose pads prevent slippage, keeping eyewear secure under high G-forces. Handcrafted from durable TR90 thermoplastic, the Interceptor offers lightweight flexibility, scratch resistance, and corrosion protection, delivering a perfect balance of strength and comfort.

So far, so good…

"One trip flown with these so far. They are lightweight, fit nicely under a headset, and the lenses are clear and sharp. I’m able to see the instrumentation well while getting relief in a bright cockpit environment. Recommended."

Great

"Great sunglasses. My only recommendation is there must be some sort of rubber on its leg to avoid them falling."

Jonathan A. (5/5)

Super Impressed!

"My entire experience with Method 7 was amazing. I accidentally put in the wrong address for my order, and when I called their customer service, they were super nice, understanding, and efficient. I was super impressed with the packaging. The sunglasses pouch has its cool fighter jet art on it, the box holding the glasses was very high quality, and they even write you a handwritten note from their team thanking you for your purchase. The sunglasses themselves are what you expect, razor-thin arms that don't leak any noise between your headphones, which I love. The build quality doesn't sacrifice sturdiness while being very flexible, and the lens has great clarity. Overall, it's my favorite pair of sunglasses, and I will definitely be buying again from you guys."

Ryan K. (5/5)

Best by far

"Best glasses to wear flying. Work well with the ANR. Don’t get caught in my hair, light weight and comfy."

Elizabeth (5/5)

Light weight & amazing clarity

"I already have a much older model which had been my go to for flying. After trying on the Interceptor Mach at Oshkosh, I decided to upgrade (actually purchased 2 pairs). The same or better clarity I was accustomed to with the benefit of lighter weight making them more comfortable on long flights. The ear pieces are thinner resulting in the headset ear cups fitting tighter. I would recommend these sunglasses."

Stephen H. (5/5)

Very stylish, comfortable and effective

"I wear my Interceptors in and out of the cockpit. They're stylish enough to wear casually anywhere yet effective enough to wear while flying to prevent glare and relieve eye strain. I wish I had another pair to leave permanently in the airplane!"
