CITADEL HPS PREMIUM GUNMETAL

Grow Glasses

$60.00

Description plus minus

Glasses built for HPS & mixed light HPS / LED rooms. Featuring Resin Repel, an anti-fog anti-stick coating. Because resin belongs on your plants, not your glasses. This Italian crafted wrap frame meets or exceeds ANSI-Z87+S standards.

Lens Technology

Method Seven grow room optics are designed using notch filtering technology to precisely block specific wavelengths of light to achieve color balance for each type of grow light. Then we trick them out using many different types of coatings across the various lens spectrums. A few examples include resin repel, anti-reflective, anti-fog, and petrol mirror for the absolute best clarity and durability.

HPS Lens Technology plus minus

Designed for the intense yellow spectrum of High Pressure Sodium lights we use unique notch filtering technology to strip away the peaks of red & yellow in the 660nm range and balance the other wavelengths evenly. This provides an unmistakable experience of perfectly balanced color and comfort, with full UV protection under these incredibly yellow and hot lights.

Resin Repel plus minus

An industrial grade anti-fog and anti-stick coating that is applied to both sides of the lens. Not only does it protect the other coatings underneath it also makes wiping sticky resin off the lenses a breeze. The coating was initially developed for The Navy Seals. We tweaked it to resist resin, which, understandably, isn't something the Navy was concerned about. LOL. True story.

Frame Technology

Our Grow frames are designed in California and made in Italy with thermo-injected TR90 polymers. These materials can withstand the heat and professional rigors of the home basement grow or the biggest commercial facilities.

CSA-Z94.3 Safety Rated plus minus

The CSA-Z94.3 standard, developed by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA), pertains to eye and face protectors. The standard specifies the performance criteria for different types of hazards. This includes impact resistance, lens quality, protection against optical radiation, and coverage area. At Method Seven, we use this as the benchmark and then raise it. We ensure our lens filtering exceeds CSA and keeps up with the changing indoor lighting technology because that's what we do best.

ANSI Z87.1+ Safety Rated plus minus

American National Standards Institute—tested and certified to protect you from all the bad stuff. Don't just take our word for it—this is the benchmark. Growers trust Method Seven because we often exceed the benchmark—we work with lighting companies to know what's coming down the road and future-proof our lines.

TR90 Frame Technology plus minus

Injected thermoplastic technology - the lightest, strongest way to make a sports or performance frame. If it's not titanium, it better be TR90.

The Citadel plus minus

Safety that actually looks cool, The Citadel. This frame meets/ exceeds ANSI Z87+s safety requirements; meaning you are safe against projectiles. The Citadel features a slight wrap for maximum side protection and big, bold lenses for the best view of your garden. The Citadel is available in a slightly glossy gunmetal grey and a matte black finish. The Citadel is not just a catchy name, this frame is rock solid as a proper Citadel should be.

Method Seven Grow

We invented Grow Room glasses in 2009. Our founder, Jeff Goldberg, was a photographer for High Times Magazine and managed several successful grow rooms. He struggled to get good shots of his plants under High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) lights because everything appeared washed out in yellow. Inspired by neodymium glass-blowing goggles, he wondered if he could create a lens to balance HPS light.

After a few years of research and collaboration with a German optical chemist, we nailed it. It took rare earth elements to perfectly balance the HPS light. Along the way, we discovered we were also blocking infrared heat and all dangerous UV rays—bonus!

That's also how we got our name. Seven steps in the scientific method combined with rare earth elements to make a lens unlike any other in existence. And so, Method Seven was born. We've kept developing specific lenses for every type of grow light, including our latest master project, the FX2, for use with full spectrum LED lights. The lights keep evolving, and we continue to innovate to ensure our customers are safe and produce the best harvests possible. And yes, many of our crew still grow. Thanks, Jeff.
