Lens Technology

Method Seven develops advanced, non-polarized optical technology specifically for the visual demands of aviation. Our proprietary notch filtering selectively reduces harsh wavelengths of light while preserving useful visual information, enhancing contrast, clarity, and natural color perception. Engineered to provide full UV protection without the electronic display visibility issues associated with polarized lenses, Method Seven optics help pilots maintain a clear view of instruments, aircraft windows, and the surrounding environment.

FLT Lens Technology plus minus

FLT lenses deliver Method Seven's aviation-specific notch filtering in a lightweight, impact-resistant polymer. Engineered as an alternative to traditional mineral glass, these non-polarized lenses combine a neutral gray base with a blue flash mirror coating to manage intense sunlight while preserving natural color perception. Anti-reflective interior coatings reduce distracting reflections, while protective surface treatments support durability and clear vision. Their lightweight construction makes FLT lenses particularly well suited for aerobatic flying, open-air aircraft, and extended wear.

25% Visible Light Transmission plus minus

At 25% Visible Light Transmission (VLT), FLT Rx lenses allow more visible light to reach the eyes than darker sunglass tints. Method Seven's advanced notch filtering selectively reduces harsh wavelengths while preserving useful light, contrast, and natural color perception. Designed specifically for prescription aviation eyewear, this lighter tint supports comfortable daytime flying and clear visibility of instruments and electronic displays across changing light conditions.

Frame Technology

Method Seven Lifestyle frames are Italian-designed and manufactured. They are classic styles with a bit of California flare, featuring flex hinges and gorgeous hand-tooled materials.

The Evolution plus minus

The Evolution combines classic square-frame styling with lightweight TR90 construction and Italian craftsmanship. Concealed flex hinges allow the frame to accommodate a variety of face shapes, including wider profiles, while the smooth, polished finish provides a comfortable fit for everyday wear. Flexible, durable, and understated, the Evolution offers versatile styling with Method Seven optical technology.

TR90 is an advanced thermoplastic material engineered for lightweight strength, flexibility, and durability. BVR is about blending technical precision with creative expression, capturing the energy and essence of flight through dynamic artwork.

Dylan, head artist of BVR studios, has transformed his lifelong passion for aviation into a thriving artistic career. Growing up around U.S. Coast Guard air stations, he was inspired by the aircraft and experiences of his childhood, which sparked his fascination with aviation.

BVR's most recent collaboration with Method Seven is the U-2 Dragon Lady project, blending his bold artistic style with Method Seven's innovative eyewear technology. Created to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the legendary U-2 spy plane, Dylan’s artwork honors the aircraft’s enduring legacy while echoing the vivid clarity revealed through Method Seven FLT lenses.
